Life's Worth

As we celebrate Easter

I want to share a few thoughts

What is the value of life?

How is life’s worth measured? And

What is living a profitable life about?

I believe that life’s value isn’t dependent on

Number of cars, family background or Nationality

Even personality, principles and poise

Is meaningless in this quest life’s value is measured by

The number of extensions of yourself you created

I am not talking about biological reproduction

Affecting lives, making sacrifices for others and

Implanting yourself into the heart of

Friends, acquaintances and strangers alike

That is what living is about

Have you ever wondered

Why a tree with more branches has a

Stronger stem and deeper roots?

The answer is simple

With each extension (branches) 

come the resources to support it

We are celebrating Christ today cos

In laying down his life, 

he created an extension of himself in many

Therefore

If you claim to be God-like and Christ’s

You have to create an extension of yourself, 

which is an extension of God

Consider this

If the duration of your life is measured by

How many lives you have touched

How long have you actually lived?

In this light some of us have not started living yet

Giving of one’s self for others

Touching lives positively and leaving a mark

That’s how your life is valued and honestly

Living for others is all Easter is about.
