As we celebrate Easter

I want to share a few thoughts

What is the value of life?

How is life’s worth measured? And

What is living a profitable life about?

I believe that life’s value isn’t dependent on

Number of cars, family background or Nationality

Even personality, principles and poise

Is meaningless in this quest life’s value is measured by

The number of extensions of yourself you created

I am not talking about biological reproduction

Affecting lives, making sacrifices for others and

Implanting yourself into the heart of

Friends, acquaintances and strangers alike

That is what living is about

Have you ever wondered

Why a tree with more branches has a

Stronger stem and deeper roots?

The answer is simple

With each extension (branches) 

come the resources to support it

We are celebrating Christ today cos

In laying down his life, 

he created an extension of himself in many

Therefore

If you claim to be God-like and Christ’s

You have to create an extension of yourself, 

which is an extension of God

Consider this

If the duration of your life is measured by

How many lives you have touched

How long have you actually lived?

In this light some of us have not started living yet

Giving of one’s self for others

Touching lives positively and leaving a mark

That’s how your life is valued and honestly

Living for others is all Easter is about.

What Matters Most?

Daily we awake and bug ourselves

About the necessities of life

Food, shelter, clothing and pleasures of life

In our quest to make ends meet

We indulge in various conscience condemning acts

And for those whose conscience are dead

Various abominable and atrocious acts

We fail to stop for a while and consider

What the essence of this life we term ours is about

In spite of what you think life is about

I believe life is not a gift

It is an opportunity

Gods investment on us

Which we will account for when the time is right

Therefore, the life we call ours is evidently borrowed

And what determines if you will gain or lose the life eventually

Is how you expend it in this borrowed phase

And not in what we acquired

Take a time and reflect on those who acquired all these things,

we pursue about today and sell our souls for, yesterday

where are they? Of what value are their acquisition now?

Many pursue fame with the whole of their being

And feel they will lead better lives when famous

But consider this

Why does mega and superstars indulge in drugs

And same self destructive habits as those who

We call frustrated due to poverty?

Make no mistake about this

There is a void in human which yearns for the divine

A vacuum that only true dedication to God can fill

Those who you admire, envy and aspire to be like

Might be so ready to give it all up and trade places with you

I once met a rich man who said to me

"young man i truly wish everybody can  be wealthy

And live in affluence because only then will you be able

To determine what is really important"

He said to me

"if you feel empty today cos you think you are poor,

You will feel more emptiness as a rich man"

Conclusively he said

"I wish i could trade places with you

Give up all these riches and become

Free, happy and carefree just like you"

I was shocked beyond words because

Friends the man in question drives

I left the man that day and decided that

As much as i abhor poverty and believe in comfort

I cannot sell my soul for pleasures of life

Which fades like the morning dew

Cos in the end

Living right, impacting others positively

And serving God with this investment of his,

Which we call our lives, that is whats most important cos

When your living on this plane is over and your audit is done

That is the only thing that matters most

(Every other thing becomes irrelevant)

God is Never Late

I know sometimes you feel neglected

Like the essence of God is missing in your affairs

You feel so lonely and no one seems to care

The void in your heart like darkness overwhelms your soul

Beclouds your emotions and sap energy from your core

With joy Lost, desolation and Pain becomes a daily companion

Life isn't and cannot be always Rosy

We must through challenges

Trials and pressures of life

Emerge like precious gold through furnace

In case you argue that

You have been long in that situation

And it seems your case is worse

Don't you know that

The quality of Gold is a function

Of the intensity and the duration it endured in the furnace?

The longer it endures, the higher its purity

The greater its value.

Know this

Just as the goldsmith never takes his eyes

from gold in the furnace

God watches you closely

till your refining process is completed

Like a loving mother waits patiently on a toddler

attempting to master the act of walking

God watches you attentively and

would stretch out his hands to catch you

when your feet begin to wobble

You may not feel God when you expect to

He might not even manifest when you need him

But he is never far away and

He responds Always on time

GOD IS NEVER LATE!

Reclaim your Life

There are various aspects of our lives we abhor

Decisions we regret and actions we wish we could take back

Relationships we wish we never lost and some we regret going into

Wish we could turn back time and make them better

Sometimes we feel trapped

Other times helpless

But the truth is

If you discover how you got to the point you are right now

You can consciously make a U-turn and

Trace your path to the original master plan

All you need is a strong desire and

A resolve so strong that it not only inspires you but drive you

No matter how far you have gone in self destruction

In spite of how trapped you feel

You can bring yourself out of it

Believe me

As long as you have breathe in your nostrils

it is never too late to get back on track

you can make your life better

all you need do is find out how and

change your thoughts, words and behavioral pattern

You might need to take a course

Get a job, learn a trade or acquire a skill

You might even need to run from that relationship

Abandon that association or neglect some friends

Please do whatever it takes to make your life better

Cos if you don't, no one will.

Even if you feel you are at the last page of your life

you can re-trace your steps, re-write your story and fulfill your destiny

no matter your level of addiction, self destruction and desolation

Get up today, shake yourself from the dust and

Reclaim your Life
