Change You, Change Me

I have listened to people complain about Situation of this country before and now,

 Various debate about our Government as if they are monsters and we are Angels

How did we get here?

What happened to the days we were like brothers

When you cry on the street and someone comes calling

The days you never get stranded

And nights you move about without fear of being hurt

When you meet someone new and don't care about his state of origin

There were days we traveled in bus

And felt like a big family

When it's so hard for one to steal from his neighbor

Now all we do is rejoice in another's calamity

Give testimony of deliverance when we come out of an accident unhurt

as if our life is more valuable than that of those who perished in the same accident.

Ask yourself this question

Would you still share that testimony if your family was involved that accident?

We feel so detached and less concerned when we seem not to be directly affected

Whatever happened to the days

Honesty and Godliness was publicized

When one cannot allow you go without your balance

Even if you forget them

What happened to the days when parents were not comfortable

with a child whose source of livelihood is not known.

Now parents encourage their children to get the money anyhow

Even if it means fraud and stealing for guys and 

for ladies marrying a man thrice age.

All we celebrate now is ill-gotten wealth and criminals

Whatever happened to female integrity

When it is abnormal for one to flirt around with several guys

Now if you say you are a virgin, you are seen as an alien

If you maintain a single relationship, you are eccentric and

Faithfulness in marriage is an oddity

Whatever happened to honesty and integrity?

Why is it difficult for my sisters to get a job without getting laid?

Sometimes they even get laid without getting the job

Why can't one get a good grade without sorting or sleeping?

Old professors sleeping around with girls their granddaughters age

They fail to realize that the girl they are destroying

is someone's treasured daughter.

Whatever happened to the days we watch TV without nudity

See a nice movie without violence, drugs or sex

When all kids learn is Romance, Violence and different sex positions

even adults can't comprehend

If we are talking about change we need to retrace our steps

Go back to the basics and change our ways individually

Else we are heading towards self destruction and apathy

We are quick to blame the government, our employee and even our Parents

But think about this

You are the Government I see,

I am the Government you can feel.

Our Government is just a reflection of You and I

Therefore if we want the Government to Change,

Change YOU while i 

Change ME.
