Life and the challenges it bring can be so
demanding
So much that life becomes colorless.
With happiness lost, one sees no reason to forge
ahead and living become meaningless.
Withdrawal from loved ones, friends and
acquaintance happens next.
Seeking the easy way out, suicide comes first as baseless
thought
Till one gets to the point termed “over the edge”
then
Suicide presents itself as the only viable option
available
Friends
It is easy for us to look at ourselves and say “I cannot
kill myself”
Believe me, what one can endure, will get one
overboard
We all have different level of resilience
When one can experience heartbreak and move ahead
like nothing happened
Another can carry the scar for a lifetime
Yet someone else might become suicidal
We cannot afford to look at this ugly trend
creeping into our system and say
“What’s my biz with someone who intends to end it
all”?
Believe me if this trend is not nipped in the bud
it will one day become a national tragedy
Remember that pilot who was depressed yet given a
plane to fly
He decided to end his life with all the passengers
aboard
What if the man who decided to jump into the
lagoon was a driver?
What if he decides to plunge a fully loaded bus
into the lagoon?
I believe that it is time for us to be our brother’s
keeper
We cannot continue to turn deaf ears to the plot
of others
Yes the country is hard but believe me not
everyone is feeling the bite on same level
I know people who bought new cars this year
Some have building project worth millions yet
Others have relocated to the village just cos they
couldn’t pay their rent
Open your eyes to the suffering of others
You will not understand how blessed you are eating
your eba and soup without meat
Till you meet someone who is soaking garri ijebu
without sugar
The story is told of a man who prepared eba he
intend to eat in a shared kitchen
And when he went to get his pot of soup someone
stole the eba
After much investigation someone asked him to
check his neighbors’ house
Upon getting there, he saw the family chewing the
eba with ordinary water
He went back to his room, brought his soup and
handed it over to them
In case you are going through a situation and you
feel your world is coming to an end
Please, please and please reach out to someone
Suicide is never an easy way out
If what is been preached in all religions of the
world is true
Suicide will only compound your situation
Eternity is infinite; your current age is only an
insignificant fraction of eternity
Do not isolate yourself
Believe it or not
The fellow looking at you with smiles might be
getting it worse
Most Nigerians are just packaging themselves
If God cares so much about the strands on your
hair
So much that he numbered them
Then your life is important to him
Whatever you do please
Encourage yourself
Reach out to someone today
