Dust and Ashes

Classification, strata and classes, tho man-made,
have become so entrenched in our nature
So much that they have become a sub conscious trait.
They form basis for our communication, acquaintance,
association and relationship
Yet, when things go wrong we cry foul.
Ask yourself
Who made you a judge of another's perception, orientation and status?
Why do you think you are in a vantage position when compared to another?
What social strata/class did you have at birth?
What will be your classification at death?

At birth the only classification that we had is "Newborn"
Born naked, passed through the same rigorous birth process
And we all cried when the first gush of air hit our lungs
I have never heard of any newborn who came out with bags of gold
Or had smiles all over.
When our time on earth expires,
The only classification that we will bear is a "Corpse"
Be you a king, champion, Politician or what have you
Therefore, I believe it is foolishness to
Belittle everyone we meet in this sojourn through life
Based on classifications that are self imposed
That didn’t matter at birth and would hold no water at death

The gateman you classified as common today
might be in the process of raising your next Boss.
What will be your status if today you lose your means of livelihood?
Many Bosses have become beggars just cos they lost their job
The house girl you belittle today might become
the wife of a minister tomorrow
Life can be so amusing sometimes
Most of the guys categorized as "from a poor home" in school
Are today champions in their field of Endeavor
Some are even employers of labor
While many of the "rich kids" are still out there fiddling with life
Believe it or not
There will always be a rationale for segregation
Gender, age, religion, social status, professional qualification,
Educational qualification etc
But if you understand that we all are first Human being
Before the different classes our lives will be a whole lot better.
Cos in the end we all are Dust and Ashes.
